How To Login

When you see the login form, enter your account name (typically the part of your e-mail address that appears before the @ sign) and your password.  If you have been using the e-mail templates your password is the same password that appears in your e-mail templates.  After you have entered your account name and password click on the Login button.  If your login succeeds, you will see a menu of options.  If your login fails, you will see the login form again.  Verify that you have typed the information correctly and click the Login button again.  If your login still fails, contact FASTXchange and tell us your account name.  We can e-mail you a copy of your password.

Checking Status

Usage

FASTXchange supports a number of status queries. To access the query menu, click the Check Status button on the left navigation frame. The query menu consists of a set of radio buttons on the left side, a set of explanations and optional fields on the right side and a Search button at the bottom. To use the form, click the radio button next to the query you wish to perform, fill in any optional field for the query and click the Search button. You may also belong to a Workgroup. If you do, a second set of radio buttons will ask if you wish to query all requests within your workgroup or only your own requests. Selecting all requests in my workgroup will enable you to view requests made by others in your group. This is useful if you need to cover for a coworker who may be out of the office. By default you will see only your own requests.

  • All suspended requests -- This query shows all your suspended requests
  • All recent requests -- This request shows all of your request which are newer that some number of days. By default, the number of days is 14 although you may specify an alternative number of days if you wish.

FAQ -- Frequently Asked Questions
Q: When I print forms, the right hand side of the form does not print. How can I print the entire page?
A: Try printing in landscape mode instead of portrait mode.  To print in landscape mode using Netscape, click File then click Print.  On the Print sheet click Properties then click Landscape.
Q: What's a cookie and why do I need one?
A: Cookies are small bits of data stored by your web browser (e.g. Netscape).  When you login to FASTXchange, FASTXchange asks your browser to store a FASTXchange cookie.  FASTXchange uses this cookie to verify that you have logged in each time you access a FASTXchange web page.  If your browser asks you if you wish to accept a cookie when you log in to FASTXchange you should answer Yes.
Q: Every time I click an item on the menu FASTXchange says Your login session has expired. Why does it do that?
A: Each time you attempt to access a FASTXchange page. FASTXchange verifies that you have a cookie.  If you did not accept FASTXchange's cookie when you logged in you will see this message.  The solution is to login again and accept FASTXchange's cookie.
